PAUL ROBINSON

Paul was born in Bolton and trained at Arts Educational in London. Paul has worked extensively as a performer and director/choreographer. His acting and performing credits include Don Lockwood in the West Yorkshire Playhouse's production of Singin' in the Rain at the National Theatre for which he received an Olivier nomination for Best Actor in a Musical, returning to the role for a special concert of the show at the National Concert Hall in Dublin. Other performing credits include, working on the feature film Cinderella directed by Kenneth Branagh, Galavant (ABC), Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music (Qatar), Phil Davis in White Christmas (Festival Theatre Edinburgh & Manchester Lowry), BBC Proms (Royal Albert Hall), Strictly Gershwin (London Coliseum, UK Tour and Royal Albert Hall), Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls (Kilworth House), Mike Connor in High Society (Shaftesbury Theatre and UK Tour), Billy Flynn in Chicago (Kuala Lumpur), Tap Dogs (World Tour), Slap in Hot Shoe Shuffle (UK Tour), Tom Jenkins in Scrooge the Musical (UK Tour), Dick in Dames at Sea (UK Tour), David in Seesaw (Royal Theatre, Northampton), Arnold Fleischer in The Secret Life of Cartoons (Aldwych Theatre), Michael Ball in Concert (UK Tour), Magic of the Musicals (UK Tour), Sugar Babies (Savoy Theatre), Sing For Your Supper (Ronnie Scotts) and the original cast of 42nd Street at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.

Paul's choreographic credits include, 42nd Street Gala (London Palladium), BBC Proms (Royal Albert Hall), tap choreographer for Strictly Gershwin (Royal Albert Hall), John Barrowman in Concert (UK Tour), Music Under The Stars (BBC), A Celebration Gala (BBC), Evita (Beirut), Cabaret (Toronto), Barnum (Devonshire Park, Eastbourne), Oliver! (Toronto), Cabaret (Derby Playhouse), Scrooge The Musical (Melbourne), Sherlock Holmes The Musical (UK Tour), A Tribute to Evelyn Laye (London Palladium) and over 30 pantomimes for Xroads and Paul Elliott including Dick Whittington at the Birmingham Hippodrome with Joan Collins.

Paul has directed most recently Finding the Light (Artscape Opera House Cape Town), The Sound of Music (Alexela Concert Hall Tallinn), Aladdin (Churchill Theatre Bromley), Cinderella (Theatre Royal Plymouth) and Anything Goes, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Wonderful Town, Follies, The Producers and 42nd Street at Bird College Uk.

Paul most recently appeared in the new drama ‘Rivals’ (Disney+) and ‘Your Mum, My Dad’ for ITV (2024).
